Everything Mon Chou does so dinner stops being a chore. And above all, everything it does without you ever having to ask.

Thousands of dishes

Mon Chou draws from nearly 3,000 dishes, from family cooking to cuisines from around the world. Every recipe serves 4 people, with ingredients sorted by aisle, steps, time, cost per person, and calories calculated by Kiloach, the partner app. See all dishes.

Heading to Flanders tonight, with a carbonade simmering away.

Today's suggestion

Every day, Mon Chou suggests one dish for lunch and one for dinner. It takes into account each household member’s tastes, how much time you have, your budget, allergies, the season, and what you’ve eaten lately. It never suggests something someone can’t stand.

Tonight I'm thinking chicken basquaise for us. The kids love it, and we haven't had it in 9 days.

Notifications that feel like texts

Notifications start with your name and talk like someone close to you. You can reply right from the lock screen with « Done » or « On it », no need to open the app.

Sophie, did you remember to grab some bread?

With what I've got left

Snap a photo of your fridge or just tell Mon Chou what’s inside. Mon Chou shows you what it found, you tap to remove anything that’s gone, and the suggestions sort themselves out. The ones that need nothing bought come first.

I spotted eggs, cheese, and two zucchini. A zucchini omelet, nothing to buy?

The three state shopping list

Missing, bought, at home. Each item switches state with a tap, with counters at the top of the list. The list is shared with the household, and Mon Chou lets you know when you’re near your store and something’s missing for tonight.

The recipe, in just the right amount

Photo, time, difficulty, cost per person. Quantities adjust to the number of people at the table, and the recipe separates what you already have at home from what you need to buy.

Cooking together

Cooking mode moves one step at a time, in big text, with the step’s ingredients right there in front of you. At the end, Mon Chou wishes you a good meal and asks what you thought of it.

Step 3. Sauté the onions for 5 minutes. Want me to start the timer?

Three timers at once

Up to three dishes at a time, each with its own name, time, and alarm. The most urgent one shows up big. The timer doesn’t count down, it calculates, which keeps it accurate even when the phone is asleep. It stays visible on the lock screen and in the iPhone’s Dynamic Island.

I'm watching everything. Each dish has its own alarm, even if you close the app.

Hands free cooking

Hands covered in flour? Tap the mic and talk to Mon Chou. « Next step », « start a 10 minute timer for the rice ».

The meal plan

For those who like to plan ahead, Mon Chou builds a meal plan for the week, two weeks, or the month. The shopping list follows automatically.

The connected household

You create your household and invite your partner and kids. Each member says what they like and don’t like, and Mon Chou suggests dishes that always fit everyone’s tastes. Members send each other messages, the shopping list becomes shared, Mon Chou has the family vote on tonight’s dish, and you always get the final say. Everything about the household.

Marc's near the store, I'll text him about the bell peppers.

Leftovers and Sunday batch cooking

Monday’s dish becomes Tuesday’s lunch, nothing wasted. And if you’ve got an hour free on Sunday, batch cooking prepares three dinners in 1 h 45 and starts all three timers.

Hosting mode

You enter the number of guests, Mon Chou puts together the full menu from starter to dessert, recalculates quantities, and gives you the schedule, from the day before right up to sitting down to eat.

Having a crowd over Saturday? I can handle it all.

Send to pickup

The shopping list can be sent to your store’s pickup service. At launch, it’s sent as a ready to copy or share list, while stores get connected.

The widgets

On your phone’s home screen, a « Tonight » widget with the dish and what’s missing, a live timers widget, and a shopping widget.
